I work closely with the Placement Teams at OBU Joel Joffe Swindon Campus, to support student placements and professional practice responsibilities. This includes:

  • Providing administrative support for pre-qualifying programmes, BSc/MSc degree Adult Nursing and Operating Department Practitioner Diploma in Higher Education (ODP) based in Swindon.
  • Leading on the Fitness to Practice (FtP) process for students ensuring they comply with Professional requirements enabling them to go out to practice.
  • Allocating large numbers of students’ placements, through managing a complex range of student and placement needs, to ensure students fulfill all ‘practice experiences’ required to support them in graduating and registering as a Nurse.
  • Building strong partnerships with placement providers (incl. Trusts and PVI’s), and working directly with Trusts’ Learning Environment Leads on capacity agreements.
  • Regularly auditing and accurately recording onto PEMS database management system, including FtP and placement processes; student hours; and placement area audits.
  • Providing secretarial support for Placement Capacity Management Group (PCMG) and minute taking for Placement Team meetings.
  • Calculating student placement expenses, verifying and signing off claims for NHS Student Bursaries.

I am also an Exam Invigilator for OBU.
