This March we will hold our first-ever Oxford Brookes Sustainability Expo, bringing together groups from across the University to celebrate and showcase the amazing work happening in sustainability.

This March we will hold our first ever Oxford Brookes Sustainability Expo, bringing together groups from across the University to celebrate and showcase the amazing work happening in sustainability.

   
The University’s new Education for Sustainability Strategy will be launched at the event alongside a day of interactive exhibitions, inspirational speakers, and activities related to sustainability across campus and the wider community.

Here is our events programme taking place across our Headington Campus:

11.00am to 3.00pm

Sustainability Fair in the John Henry Brookes Building’s Forum space and Brookes Union Square. There will be lots to do and explore, you can: 

- meet Sustainable organisations like Friend’s of the Earth, Share Oxfordshire and Soho Juice
- join Green societies
- engage in volunteering and community projects
- have your Bike Fixed with the Bike Dr
- try a Voi e-scooter for free in the Quad
- learn about and taste our sustainable catering in the Deli

12.00noon to 1.00pm
Live speakers in Union Hall covering sustainability at Oxford Brookes; this includes hearing from Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor, the launch of our new Education for Sustainability Strategy, the SU, sustainable operations at Brookes as well as some of our world-leading research and academic programs leads such as PRME. Panel Discussion for the Sustainable and Resilient Futures Network - Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange showcase in Cerici G.30. *Please note this event is ticketed - reserve your place now.*

  • Litter clean-up
    Headington Campus, 10.00am, 20th March

    Pre-event litter clean-up around campus, starting from the Buckley Building - participate and receive a free coffee! Sign up now.

  • Waste Campaign: Eco-Art Challenge
    Online, 1 March - 15 March

    Create the best sculpture out of your recyclable materials, and win a £50 John Lewis voucher! Please see our competition page for more information.

  • How to find a Green Job workshop
    Online, 2.00pm, 20th March

    Organised by OBU Careers Central Programme, this workshop will explore various aspects of green jobs, including skills in demand and how to prepare for roles related to environmental sustainability, regardless of the sector or area you are interested in.
