  • Assessment Standards Knowledge exchange

    ASKe was established in 2005. It aims to inform, inspire and support the HE community through the continuing development of an evidence base concerned with learning and teaching especially around assessment and feedback. Our work is also developing to look at broader issues, particularly in management education and use of professional judgement in other arenas.

    The centre (led by Professor Margaret Price) is based in the Faculty of Business at Oxford Brookes. It originated as a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) with a £4.5 million award (spread over five years) from  HEFCE  in recognition of good practice based on pedagogic research into aspects of assessment. The CETL focused on developing an evidence base and good practice to support HE communities in sharing understandings of assessment standards and published a book on assessment literacy in 2012. 

    This website, still includes useful resources from that the CETL period but continues to be updated with our innovative range of materials including our popular 123 leaflets, and multimedia resources. Further information about our research can be found on the Faculty webpages. We look forward to future collaboration with you.
