Excellent teaching, strong partnerships and broad research expertise make Oxford Brookes the ideal place to study for a postgraduate qualification – whether you are aiming to deepen your subject knowledge, acquire a professional qualification or undertake your own original research.

    Taught master’s courses

Our taught master’s typically last one year full-time, or up to two years if it includes a work placement. Master’s qualifications include LLM (International Law), MA (Arts), MArch (Architecture), MEng (Engineering) and MSc (Science).

Shorter Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate options are available for some courses.

Pre-masters courses will improve your study skills, subject knowledge and academic English so you are ready for a master’s degree in the UK.

  • Research courses

Research degrees are based on critically investigating and evaluating approved topics and presenting and defending a substantial thesis (written paper).

Research degree awards can either be a Master of Philosophy (MPhil), usually requiring two years of full-time study, or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), usually requiring three years of study.

Having an international degree shows your ability to work with people from other cultures, to travel, and that you have discipline. As more and more companies become international, it is something that shows you have what it takes to work on a global level.

Aimee Haugan from the USA studied an MSc in Marketing.
