Overview

Full and part-time International applicants for the MA Global Development and Humanitarian Practice (starting in September 2024) from developing countries in Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America only are eligible to apply for a single scholarship award of £5000 to contribute to their course fees.

Applicants should have applied for/completed their IELT English language tests as per the entry requirement of Oxford Brookes University. Those who have completed their IELT will be given preference.

The Faculty’s postgraduate scholarships are awards made towards tuition fees only. It is therefore important that applicants clearly identify how they intend to raise the additional funding necessary to cover living costs, travel, textbooks, other ancillary costs and any additional fees, should the tuition fees be higher than the amount of scholarship available.

Full and part-time International applicants for the MA Global Development and Humanitarian Practice (starting in September 2024) from developing countries in Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America only.

Applicants failing to comply with these procedures will not be considered for the scholarship.

Applications will be reviewed according to the applicant's experience in the sector, motivation to study and contributions to their own country/global context.

Application process

Complete the online Scholarship Application form 2024-2025, including a personal statement explaining why you have applied for the course and for the scholarship.

Scholarship applications must be accompanied by a personal statement in the section provided which must clearly identify why the applicant believes they are deserving of the scholarship.

The deadline for receipt of a scholarship application is 12pm on Monday 27 May 2024 for entry to the programme in September 2024.

Late applications will not be accepted.

Candidates should be notified if they have been successful by 20th June 2024. Applicants who are offered the scholarship will need to notify the faculty of their intention to accept the scholarship within 7 days of receiving the offer. Failure to notify the faculty of the intention to accept the scholarship will results in the forfeiture of the scholarship.  Scholarship offers not accepted by the deadline will be withdrawn and re-allocated to the next applicant on the scholarship reserve list.
