This summer, Carnival is bound to return to the streets of East Oxford under the theme 'Our nature Our Future'. Join the conversation on plans for Cowley Road Carnival 2023, the festival's future and its history grounded in African Caribbean celebration of freedom and resistance. The interactive session also gives insights into knowledge exchange and community engagement initiatives at Brookes University, from mapping the African Caribbean experience in Oxford and it's entangled legacies of empire to imagining the sustainable city and the potential of electric floats for festivals in the climate crisis. This is a gathering and open space to network, where everyone is invited to share and learn from different ways of celebrating, researching, educating, and becoming part of Carnival!
