Overview

In this Public Health Policy module we'll explore ideological frameworks that influence organisation perspectives and policy making. There will be an emphasis on the policy process and assessment of policy impacts. We'll consider:

  • the context and techniques involved in global public health policy development
  • the factors influencing evidence-based public health policy
  • its impact on the health and wellbeing of specific populations and groups.

You will be assessed 100% through coursework. You can take this module as a standalone module of 200 hours over 12 weeks or as part of a programme of study.

Entry requirements

You must normally be from a healthcare background and have support from a manager to undertake this module of study.

English language requirements

In addition to the academic entry qualifications, if your first language is not English you must demonstrate that your level of English is appropriate for study at postgraduate level. An IELTS overall score of 6.5 is required for this course.

Fees quoted are for the first year only. If you are studying a course that lasts longer than one year your fees will increase each year.

How and when to pay

Tuition fee instalments for the semester are due by the Monday of week 1 of each semester. Students are not liable for full fees for that semester if they leave before week 4. If the leaving date is after week 4, full fees for the semester are payable.
