Working with international partners

Working with international partners

CECD provides training and consultancy services for educational organisations on an international scale, with programmes hosted in the UK and in-country.

We have the capacity to design extensive programmes of training for teachers, hosted in the UK, as well one-off training events either in the UK or in-country. The School of Education, Humanities and Languages has developed over 600 well-established partnerships in education from the early years, primary, secondary and post-compulsory sectors on a national and international scale.

Together we are a strong community of practitioners and researchers who aim to be agents of change, improving global educational practice for future generations.

We work with our international partners to create flexible and bespoke training programmes, designed by experts and practitioners to suit global educational objectives.

Recent projects and partnerships

Ecolint - International School of Geneva

We are very pleased to be working with Ecolint/The International school of Geneva to deliver a portfolio of professional learning programmes, including The Multilingual Learner: Theory into Practice, and Learning principles.

Government of Jersey

CECD experts Eowyn Crissfield Jo Skelton are leading our collaboration with the Department of Education on the island of Jersey, which focuses on innovations in multilingual learning. Our work is shaping large-scale changes in policy and practice on the island, with the aim of supporting all multilingual learners to thrive in Jersey schools.

English Schools Foundation (ESF), Hong Kong

Our collaboration with the ESF is centred on the flagship programme Principles of Practice. Principles of Practice provides teachers with an opportunity for depth-engagement with educational research in a way that makes research directly relevant to everyday classroom practice. The programme provides a space for dialogue about the 'big' questions that underpin professional life for teachers - about the practice of being a teacher, and the ethical and pedagogic principles that underpin this practice. Over the course of one year, participants engage in online lectures and small group tutorials, culminating in the development of a sustainable plan for research engagement far beyond the life of the programme.

Leadership Through Change (Khebrat)

In partnership with the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia: Between 2016-2018, the School of Education, Humanities and Languages at Oxford Brookes University (OBU) was contracted by the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia to provide a 12-month tailored programme of continuing professional development for qualified Saudi teachers visiting the UK (both primary and secondary). This was a flagship national programme aimed at advancing change in the Saudi education system, drawing on best practice from UK schools. The programme focused on the development of innovative, creative professional practice through school immersion in partner schools.

Other recent international partners include Fu Yuan International School, Times College, and the Helga Todd Foundation.
