The Library has a small but growing collection of contemporary artists' books. The collection was started in 1985 with the purchase of books created by students on a Bookworks course at Oxford Polytechnic. It complements the Artists' Books collection held by the Fine Art Department.
In September 2022, the collection was renamed in memory of Chris Fowler, Academic Liaison Librarian 2003-2022, to reflect her dedication to the development of the special collections at Oxford Brookes and this collection in particular.
This is a reference collection and is housed in the Library's Special Collections Reading Room.
