Ajay Kumar is an engineering academic and researcher with extensive experience in both industry and higher education. His professional background spans engineering design, automotive engineering, vehicle systems and defence-related technologies, complemented by significant experience in teaching, academic leadership and research.

His interests include engineering systems, vehicle technology, mobility, modelling and simulation, autonomous and uninhabited systems, and the application of engineering principles to complex real-world challenges. He has worked with international organisations and multidisciplinary teams across industry and academia, bringing a strong combination of practical engineering experience and academic knowledge.

Ajay has extensive experience in teaching, student supervision and curriculum development at postgraduate level. He has also undertaken academic leadership responsibilities, including course and module leadership, and has supervised research students across a range of engineering and technology topics.
