Asrin Mahmoudpour

Role

Asrin Mahmoudpour is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of the Built Environment, Oxford Brookes University, where she leads the "Just 15-Minute City" project. Her research operates at the interdisciplinary intersection of urban planning, mobility, and social justice, critically examining the social justice implications of proximity-based planning across UK and European contexts.

With extensive experience in qualitative, quantitative, and participatory methodologies, Asrin develops innovative theoretical frameworks and collaborates on high-impact research. She is deeply committed to public engagement and knowledge co-creation, ensuring her work influences both academic discourse and practical urban policy and governance.

Prior to her current fellowship, Asrin was a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Art, Tehran (2017–2022). In this role, she delivered undergraduate and postgraduate courses in urban planning and design, sustainable development, and research methods. Throughout her career, she has remained dedicated to advancing theoretically grounded, policy-relevant research that advocates for more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable urban futures.
