My teaching interests link to my subject specialisation within sport and exercise nutrition. I teach on the BSc Sport and Exercise Science, BSc in Sport, Physical Activity and Health Promotion, and MSc Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition. I supervise Dissertations and Research projects on the BSc Sport and Exercise Science and BSc Sport, Coaching and Physical Education degrees.

Supervision

I supervise postgraduate MSc Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition Research Projects.

Research

My research interests revolve around sports nutrition, and muscle recovery.  I am currently a PhD candidate looking at the energy availability in athletes and exercising individuals.  I have particular interest in:

  • Energy availability and its influence on physiological functioning and sport and exercise performance
  • Sports nutrition and muscle recovery
  • Fuelling strategies for team based and endurance athletes 
  • Sports rehabilitation
