Role
The Technical Specialist at Brookes for Sculpture and Fabrication in the School of Arts he has a wide range of technical knowledge in both traditional skills of mould making, casting, wood and metal fabrication, and in digital making utilising Laser cutting and 3D print technologies. Interrogating how these technologies complement, combine and utilise in the making of artefacts.
David works across most of the taught programs offered by the school of Arts and cooperating with students from the School of Architecture. Offering bespoke individual and group sessions within the making workshop.
David completed his MFA at Oxford Brookes exploring the acts of walking and making as a meditative process. He started his career in the creative industries as a Prop and model maker for Television, Film, Theatre and Museums David then went on to study a BA (hons) Fine Art at Bretton Hall the home of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
He also holds a range of technical and professional qualifications and has been a Technical Specialist and lecturer in both Higher and Further education institutions.
