Role

I am a Lecturer in Dietetics and Nutrition. I joined Oxford Brookes University in 2024. I actively participate in teaching and student supervision at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels (see below for more information).

I completed my PhD in Clinical Medicine Research at Imperial College London, UK, a Master with distinction in Nutrition at the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology (INTA) at University of Chile, Chile and a bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Valparaiso Chile, Chile.

Professionally, I am a registered Nutritionist and Dietitian in Chile and qualified and eligible to register with the Association for Nutrition and the Health and Care Professions Council in the UK.Also, I have worked as a Dietitian in different countries across Latin America, while I served as an International consultant to the World Food Programme at the United Nations, at the Regional Bureau of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Research

I study how dietary patterns influence gut health, focusing on metabolite production and interactions with the gut microbiome in health and disease. I am particularly interested in integrating digital health and machine learning to drive innovation in dietetics and nutrition.
