Tom Breen

Role

Tom Breen is a Landscape Historian working on the AHRC-funded project 'In All Our Footsteps: Tracking, Mapping and Experiencing Rights of Way in Post-War Britain'. This project analyses how rights of way were mapped, developed, used, and experienced in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. It aims to positively inform future rights of way planning, decision-making, and policy. Working alongside Glen O'Hara, Dr Breen is leading the archival research strand which seeks to better understand how local government, civil society, and the third sector were asked to record and establish the public ways network in England and Wales following the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949.
