Dr Wendy Che was born and educated (BSc) in China. She came to the UK in 1993 and worked in International Trade and taught Mandarin Chinese in Coventry and Warwickshire. Prior to joining Oxford Brookes University, she taught Chinese to undergraduate and postgraduate stuents in the University of Warwick.

Wendy has a PhD in Industries and Business studies from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. She has cut across disciplines throughout her career life,applying insights from medicine, mechnical engineering, supply chain mangement, business sciences to language contaxts.

Wendy has also had over 10 years’ experience of working with international companies and education providers, having provided business consultant in international trade, Business culture, language training and translation service to many companies and universities.

Research

A long-standing interest is in Mandarin Chinese teaching methodology. The research agenda is primarily focused in the area of teaching Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language and developing Chinese ICT materials.
