MA Education Higher Education, 2018

“The teaching on the course is really engaging, the majority of the teaching is completed online and I meet with my lecturers to go over tutorials”

Grant Chapman-Clarke graduated from Portsmouth University in Media and Technology, before choosing to study the MA Education, Higher Education at Oxford Brookes.

It was during my time as an undergraduate that my experiences as President of the Student Union sparked my interest in education policy making. After graduating I took a year out and looked for a course that would appeal to my interest. I chose the MA Education, Higher Education at Oxford Brookes as I want to pursue a career in Higher Education.

One of the best aspects of the course is that the lecturers have a keen interest in how technology is being used to inform learning. This is an area that I’ve found interesting and stimulating. One of my favourite modules featured policy making and the philosophy behind it. I’ve managed to build my interests into my MA, so I’ve been able to specialise in the areas of education, technology and policy.

The teaching on the course is really engaging, the majority of the teaching is completed online and I meet with my lecturers to go over tutorials. My main lecturer George Roberts has been supportive and always willing to help. Many students are studying the course via distance learning, this has enabled me to interact with students from all over the UK.

I enjoy using the Brookes library, you can reserve the book you need for your studies, and get it delivered to the campus of your choice. The specialisms and skills that you gain on the MA will help you stand out to potential employers. I’m looking forward to my graduation and pursuing a career in the areas of education, technology and policy.
