BSc (Hons) Business Finance with Accounting (Final Year Entry), 2026, China, Student
“I like that assignments are often based on real-world cases, which helps me to acquire employable skills.”
“I was attracted to Oxford Brookes’ emphasis on practical teaching.”
The course content seemed very innovative and relevant to the industry I want to join. When researching universities, I watched some student vlogs and campus videos. I really liked the warm and friendly atmosphere shown in the videos. I felt that this place would allow me to both succeed academically while feeling comfortable and at ease.
“I really enjoy the seminar-style modules because they are very interactive.”
We had the opportunity to discuss ideas in groups, which helped me better understand the course content. I like that assignments are often based on real-world cases, which helps me to acquire employable skills. For example, we recently prepared a group project simulating a real industry task, which improved my teamwork and communication skills. We also learned how to use specific software used in industry, which ensures that we not only learn theory but also gain practical skills that are beneficial to our CV/resume.
“The University's international office sent me very clear visa and accommodation guidelines.”
The China office also held pre-departure meetings and answered many of my practical questions. After arriving in the UK, Freshers' Week helped me familiarise myself with the campus environment. My course tutors were also very helpful, allowing me to better understand British academic culture. My past learning experience has provided a very solid foundation for my Final Year Entry degree. The modules I studied before connect very well with the courses here. This means I already have the necessary background knowledge and don't need to start from scratch. I can learn directly based on my existing knowledge.
“I love the city of Oxford, it's historically rich yet vibrant.”
Strolling through the city centre and admiring the famous old buildings is wonderful. At the same time, there are also modern cafes and parks, which are great places for students to relax. I enjoy spending my free time shopping at supermarkets and markets with friends; it makes me feel fulfilled.
“My main goal after graduation is to begin my career in an industry related to my degree.”
I hope to find a graduate position where I can apply the skills I learned at Oxford Brookes. In the long term, I hope to take on more responsibility and perhaps one day manage my own team. I've also considered pursuing a master's degree in a few years. But for now, my focus is on gaining valuable work experience.
