“I have been learning a lot on my University English course. I think it is very helpful for me for improving my English and for adapting to the British education system.”

I have always had the bug for hospitality. I used work for Shelton Group in Korea and in order for me to be the group leader I needed to study abroad to broaden my knowledge and improve my English. I was searching online for a university that best fit me and came across Brookes. After looking over the curriculum I knew I wanted to study an MA in hospitality management with Brookes.

I have been learning a lot on my University English course. I think it is very helpful for me for improving my English and for adapting to the British education system. We’re encouraged to be active in class, to discuss and share our opinions. I get along with all my teachers. They provide detailed feedback on the assignments I submit to help me improve. They are generally interested us which motivates me to push myself.

The first time I visited Brookes I was surprised at how modern it is. When I first came into the John Henry Brookes Building I thought it looked better than some hotels back home! It is very clean, and has a very good cleaning system. The Brookes sports centre is also very good. I join exercise classes, attempt the climbing wall, and go swimming with friends.

Oxford has great attractions like Christchurch and the Oxford Museum. I really enjoy Oxford City, it is a very beautiful place and it is the perfect city for a student.

I have met many friends in Clive Booth halls of residence. We are a flat of six people and they are all English so it helps me practice. Everyone is very kind and they always include me in their plans.

My advice to Korean students is come be a part of the Korean society! It’s a great way to stay connected.
