MSc Management and Business Analytics, 2026, Myanmar, Student
“The focus on real-world business application is complemented by a diverse, international classroom environment and exposure to faculty with deep industry expertise.”
“As an alumna who first joined Oxford Brookes in 2019, I have always held the University in high regard.”
It has a strong reputation in business and management, as well as an inclusive environment for international students. After completing my first degree in Marketing and Brand Management, I spent six years progressing in my career to a General Manager role in Business Development. This professional journey sparked a desire for further academic growth, and returning to Oxford Brookes felt like a natural decision. I already trusted the education here, knew the environment, and felt comfortable on campus. Coming back almost felt like coming home.
“Oxford is a wonderful city to live in.”
It has a unique atmosphere shaped by its rich history, beautiful architecture, and the presence of the University itself. Outside of my studies, I spend a lot of my time discovering new restaurants, markets, and cafes in Oxford. Food is something I am genuinely passionate about. I thoroughly enjoy baking and writing about my food experiences as a hobby. These small moments outside of academic life are important for keeping a healthy balance and staying motivated throughout the course.
“The master’s degree has been very relevant to my professional goals.”
For someone like me, who is coming from a marketing background, this course is filling a very important gap. By mastering modules such as Business Intelligence and Data-Driven Decision Making, I am moving beyond designing strategies, to leading them with data and measurable outcomes. Engaging with guest speakers and global case studies has provided me with the networking opportunities and professional insights necessary to navigate complex challenges in any international market.
“The faculty are approachable and willing to engage beyond just the formal sessions.”
When I have had questions about assignments or needed guidance on how to approach a particular concept, I have always felt comfortable reaching out, and the feedback I receive is constructive and thoughtful. My classmates come from diverse countries and professional backgrounds, which makes discussions and group work particularly enriching. Everyone brings a different perspective, and that diversity genuinely strengthens the learning experience.
“The University has been supportive throughout my time as an international student.”
The strong international community makes it easy to connect with people who share similar experiences, and Student Support Services are always accessible when needed. Academic staff are open and approachable, so it’s never felt like I was navigating things alone. While being away from family is always a challenge, the University’s supportive atmosphere provides a sense of stability, making the UK feel like a second home during both of my degrees.
“My ambition is to secure a senior leadership role in international business development and strategy.”
By combining my two master’s degrees, I have built a specialised skillset that bridges brand strategy and analytical data. Drawing on my experience in both Myanmar and the UK, I aim to apply this dual perspective to help global organisations make more data-conscious, strategic decisions in both emerging and developed markets.
