I discovered Oxford Brookes while researching universities known for strong academic standards and career focused education. What stood out to me was the balance between theory and practical skills. The courses are designed not only to teach concepts, but to prepare students for employment. I was also impressed by the modern facilities, diverse student community and the location in Oxford, which offers a great student experience alongside access to professional opportunities.

Studying in a UK academic environment has been incredibly fulfilling. I found it more independent than my previous educational experience, with a strong emphasis on research, critical thinking and self-directed learning. Lecturers encourage us to form our own opinions and support them with evidence, which has strengthened my analytical and problem solving skills.

There is less focus on memorisation and more focus on understanding concepts deeply and applying them in assignments, discussions and projects. I also appreciated how approachable lecturers are. The communication between students and staff is open and supportive, and they are always willing to provide guidance.
Although I did not receive a scholarship, flexible payment options made managing finances easier. Throughout my course, I benefited from networking opportunities with classmates, lecturers and guest speakers from industry, which gave me insight into real world practice and different career paths.
