The reputation of the PGCE Primary course at Brookes is well known, and even before I became interested in becoming a Primary School teacher I was aware that Brookes was well-respected in this area. When I decided on a change of career to become a teacher I knew Brookes would be a good place to study.

Te enthusiasm of the teaching staff has been consistently amazing! No matter the subject, the topic or even the weather seems able to dampen the positive attitude of those helping us on the course. The lecturers have always managed to give us plenty of examples and ideas from which we can develop our own style.

The library and staff are also tremendously useful, the books, journals and resources are better than I could have ever expected.

Aside from the lecturers and teaching staff my fellow students have also been tremendously supportive. The atmosphere is one that “we are all in this together” and nobody wants to see a colleague struggling or unhappy. Plus I suspect there is a little teaching practise going on at the same time!

The best thing about being a student at Brookes is that the lectures are really interesting and useful and the reassurance that you are being given the most relevant and useful information currently available.

I have just finished the PGCE Primary course and am presently searching for an NQT job. I hope to start my first teaching job in September.
