Vajira Bandara, who is currently studying Geography, is hoping to extend his studies with a Master’s programme, and in the future would like to extend this to a PhD. He is interested in working for a research based institution, specialising in paleoclimatology.
I came to Oxford Brookes after I was told what a beautiful, green city it is. Brookes was also one of the few universities which offered the course and modular choice I was interested in. During my degree I have been introduced to working in the field, gathering and analysing data – skills which will definitely help me with my future career.
Being an International Student from Sri Lanka, I have had the best time of my life as a student at Brookes. The experience of a different culture is one of the best education opportunities you could have, apart from the academic qualifications you could gain. Each and every single person I’ve met has been courteous and helpful.
In most of my modules I’ve been the only international student, but I’ve integrated very well and made many friends for life. I’m proud to say I have met many students from different countries. For anyone interested in studying, I would say Oxford as a city and Oxford Brookes as a university would be one of the best choices you ever make in your life.
