The comprehensive curriculum and diverse electives

made Oxford Brookes the ideal choice for me. Modules like Fiction and Non-Fiction Publishing, Craft of Storytelling and International Rights offered the perfect foundation to understand the publishing industry. Practical assignments and industry-relevant lectures stood out, as did the networking opportunities at events like the London Book Fair and Oxford Literary Festival. Living in Oxford, a city rich in culture and history, was the icing on the cake.

The tutors were supportive every step of the way,

always available for advice or guidance on assignments. They also provided invaluable career advice, listening to my goals and offering encouragement and insights that helped shape my future. Their consistent support, both academically and personally, was a highlight of my time at Oxford Brookes.

My cohort was full of inspiring individuals,

and working together on group assignments was always rewarding. Their diverse perspectives and shared passion for the publishing industry enriched my learning experience. Even after graduating, we remain connected - discussing career goals, sharing advice, and celebrating each other’s successes.

The course was instrumental

in preparing me for my role. Assignments mirrored real-world scenarios, while seminar discussions encouraged critical thinking and teamwork. Covering areas like trade and academic publishing helped me identify my interests, and the practical skills I gained, are essential in the workplace.

In my role as a Royalties Assistant,

I rely heavily on the knowledge I gained during the course. I’d recommend this course to anyone - it provides a comprehensive education, practical skills, and unique networking opportunities that truly set you up for success in the publishing industry.
