About us
This project explores the use of machine learning to achieve real-time understanding of
video scenes and consistent segmentation of advertisement boards and pitch
objects without the use of existing infrared cameras and hardware infrastructure.
Innovate UK is the United Kingdom's innovation agency, which provides money and support to organisations to make new products and services. It is a non-departmental public body operating at arm's length from the Government as part of the United Kingdom Research and Innovation organisation.
Supponor provides commercially and technically proven solutions that deliver virtually enhanced advertising spaces in live sports broadcast. They do this by respectfully and authentically overlaying physical TV visible signage – such as dynamic perimeter LED boards or static billboards; by placing new or additional virtual assets in and around the field of play; or by delivering a combination of both. This project will utilise machine learning to achieve real-time understanding of video scenes and consistent segmentation of advertisement boards and pitch objects without the use of existing infrared cameras and hardware infrastructure.
