Internships on the Careers Portal

The Careers Portal is a great place to find internship opportunities. Go to the Jobs tab and use the tags to filter for the opportunities that match the criteria that suits your needs. Apply for the roles that best suit you, and receive notifications for relevant opportunities.

You can also use the Careers Portal to register for networking events and careers workshops, as well as to access careers resources in the Information Zone such as our blog.

Virtual internships with Forage

Virtual internship programs replicate work at top companies, and connect students to the companies themselves. In only 5-6 hours, learn relevant workplace tools and skills. You will also earn a certificate.

Bright Network

Bright Network Internship Experience UK

Internship Experience UK is a three-day virtual internship programme which takes place every summer - each year is a completely new programme designed to support you with your career. So far, over 140,000 students and graduates have taken part and reaped the rewards of spending a few days of their summer with the world’s top employers. 10,000 of them have even secured roles with the firms they met on the experience.

Internship Experience UK usually runs over the summer period. The website also separately lists a number of internship opportunities year-round that you can browse currently and apply for.

DigData Career Challenges and Career panels

The Digdata programme offers students across secondary and tertiary education the opportunity to gain virtual work experience with leading brands where data is used to solve a business problem. All online events and challenges are free and hosted outside university timetable hours on MS Teams with all career challenge submittals receiving certification.

Get ahead of the curve, gain some valuable work experience to add to your personal statement, cv, job applications and assist you in making those tough education and career choices by gaining visibility to employers and their breadth of career opportunities.

Register now to become a Digdata member and be kept informed of upcoming career events, or take part in Career Challenges in your own time within 7-10 days. On receipt of your work experience submittals you will receive a certificate.

Volunteer opportunities

Volunteering is an excellent way to gain work experience and skills that will make you more employable, as well as networking opportunities. By connecting with a charitable cause, you demonstrate motivation and initiative - as well as developing vital skills throughout your volunteering activities such as team work, communication and problem solving skills.
