Internships on the Careers Portal

The Careers Portal is a great place to find internship opportunities. Go to the Jobs tab and use the tags to filter for the opportunities that match the criteria that suits your needs. Apply for the roles that best suit you, and receive notifications for relevant opportunities.

You can also use the Careers Portal to register for networking events and careers workshops, as well as to access careers resources in the Information Zone such as our blog.

Oxford Brookes are working with Santander Universities to bring you the opportunity to be paid £1000 for completing one of 10 paid projects with a Local Small to medium business.

The projects are around 88 hours (or 2 weeks equivalent) long and each project will vary depending on the individual business needs.

To search for Paid Projects visit the Careers Portal and use the filters to select Vacancy tag: SME - Fully Paid Work Project. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter to keep up-to-date with new opportunities. You can talk to a member of our Careers team for help with any applications.

Virtual internships with Forage

Virtual internship programs replicate work at top companies, and connect students to the companies themselves. In only 5-6 hours, learn relevant workplace tools and skills. You will also earn a certificate.

Bright Network Internship Experience UK

Internship Experience UK is a three-day virtual internship programme which takes place every summer - each year is a completely new programme designed to support you with your career. So far, over 140,000 students and graduates have taken part and reaped the rewards of spending a few days of their summer with the world’s top employers. 10,000 of them have even secured roles with the firms they met on the experience.

Internship Experience UK usually runs over the summer period. The website also separately lists a number of internship opportunities year-round that you can browse currently and apply for.

Volunteer opportunities

Volunteering is an excellent way to gain work experience and skills that will make you more employable, as well as networking opportunities. By connecting with a charitable cause, you demonstrate motivation and initiative - as well as developing vital skills throughout your volunteering activities such as team work, communication and problem solving skills.
