In December, the wonderful world of audiograft returns after last year’s online festival.

This year the festival takes place in the basement of Modern Art Oxford, two wondrous days of diverse sonic performances that extend the limits and boundaries of what constitutes an instrument, a composition, and performance.

On Thursday 01/12 Judith Hamann will perform works for cello and humming, the new duo of Clara de Asís and David Lacey explore cyclical structures for percussion and electronics, and Ryoko Akama will activate the space with her array of electronic contraptions

On Friday 02/12 a new group, convened especially for audiograft 2022, consisting of the artists and musicians, Ryoko Akama, Anna Jane Houghton, Sharon Phelan, Catherine Ross, and Beth Shearsby, will perform a new composition by Tim Parkinson, and with sonic sculptures made by Rita Evans.

audiograft is curated by the saru (sonic art research unit) at Oxford Brookes University and co-promoted by OCM
