Creative Industries Festival: Age on Stage: Applied Theatre, Older Adults and Shame Resilience

In collaboration with the Healthy Aging and Care Network, this session by artist facilitator/researcher Georgia Bowers shows how theatre can challenge ageism and ageist-induced shame.

Georgia Bowers, a nationally recognised artist facilitator/researcher who specialises in applied theatre practice with adults aged 65+, reflects on how theatre can challenge ageism and ageist-induced shame by encouraging shame resilience. In partnership with the Chichester Festival Theatre’s The Chatter Project, she shows how theatre activities can help resist ageist stereotypes and increase feelings of joy, pride, purpose, connection and self-value. This session runs in collaboration with the Healthy Aging and Care Network.
