Occupational Therapy with Refugees and Asylum Seekers

Enhancing our understanding of the lived experiences of refugees and asylum seekers.

In this presentation, Dr Meysam Tayebipour will show how occupational therapy and occupational science can enhance our understanding of the lived experiences of refugees and asylum seekers.

The talk will cover aspects of occupational therapy and occupational science, discuss different terms used to describe displacement, and explain why it is important to distinguish between them. The presentation will then demonstrate how concepts such as occupational marginalisation and occupational deprivation can enrich our knowledge of the experience of displacement.
