12th OBBS HRM Research and Alumni conference - “Sustainable HRM practices: towards a common good?”

Research and alumni conference open to current students, alumni and HRM professionals.

As organisations navigate global and local challenges in increasingly volatile environments, the ethical dimensions of Human Resource Management (HRM) have come into sharper focus. The rise of sustainable HRM reflects a growing recognition of how HRM practices affect, as well as are affected by broader social issues. This conference is dedicated to exploring the theme both practically and theoretically with an interpretation of sustainability as an HRM for the common good. Specifically, it considers the challenges and opportunities of incentive schemes and proposes a nuanced approach that is more likely to contribute to sustainable HRM practices.

It also looks at the experiences of young graduates in hybrid work environments and explores ways in which HRM practices in this domain can achieve inclusion in the workplace. The conference includes two academic keynotes, presentations from current postgraduate HRM students, and a panel discussion on the conference theme involving participants from academia, industry and the CIPD on how sustainable HRM practices can be aligned with a goal of advancing the common good.
