The Centre for Medical Humanities at Oxford Brookes University invites you to a one day workshop, In the Name of Eugenics: A Reappraisal, commemorating the important contribution of Professor Daniel Kevles to the history of eugenics.

Bringing together leading scholars from across the field, this event will revisit key debates on heredity, intelligence, religion, sex, and scientific authority, while reflecting on the continuing legacy of eugenic thought in Britain and the United States. The workshop concludes with a keynote lecture by Professor Dan Kevles, Encounters with Eugenics: Confronting Its History and Persistence in the US and the UK.
