Microbiome, gut health, gardening and wellbeing
This event will screen a documentary on the latest microbiome research, followed by a talk by Dr Ashby Lavelle Sachs (RHS) on soil and gut health and gardening across the life course.
This event will screen The Winner of the Grand Prix Award at the 2014 Life Sciences Film Festival. MICROBIRTH - a documentary on the latest research on the origins of the microbiome; how microscopic events during childbirth have lifelong consequences for the health of our children.
This will be followed by Dr Ashby Lavelle Sachs, on soil and gut health through contact with soil and gardening across the life course. Ashby will examine the connection between gut health and gardening and the work of the RHS surrounding health and gardening.
Dr Lavelle Sachs is a Research Fellow in Wellbeing and Horticulture (RHS, Garden Wisley).
