Oxford Brookes Business School has been shortlisted for Business School of the Year in the annual Times Higher Education (THE) Awards 2023.

The annual awards, now in their nineteenth year, are widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of higher education and recognise excellence across the UK and Irish sectors.

This year’s awards have 20 categories, covering a wide range of academic disciplines, as well as leadership, management and administration.

Professor Tim Vorley, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Oxford Brookes Business School, said: “I am excited to see Oxford Brookes Business School recognised on the THE shortlist for Business School of the Year, which is testament to the hard work and commitment of colleagues across the School.

“Under the banner ‘Brookes Means Business’, engagement has been a defining concept across our teaching and research, seeing staff and students working in partnership with the public, private and voluntary sectors.”

“Over the past 12 months the Business School has invested in new facilities with the opening of the Bloomberg Lab and Social Media Lab, and will see our Design Thinking Lab launched in 2024. The School has also relaunched its portfolio to deliver an engaged student experience.”

John Gill, Editor of Times Higher Education, said: “Nineteen years on from their launch, I’m delighted to say that the enthusiasm for the THE Awards continues to grow. This year saw yet another record number of entries, but maybe more importantly, we also have more institutions represented on the shortlists than ever before – a clear indicator of the great strength in depth of UK and Irish higher education.”

The winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner on 7 December at the ACC conference centre in Liverpool.
