Oxford Brookes is one of the country’s leading modern universities, says The Times

Oxford Brookes University is ranked in the top 10 higher education institutions in the South East of England, according to The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.

The annual league table considers various factors to rank institutions, including degree completion rates, satisfaction with teaching quality and student employment prospects.

The Times says of Oxford Brookes: “A decade-long £220 million investment programme at Oxford Brookes is approaching its final stages. From artistic beginnings as the Oxford School of Art in 1865, the university has developed into one of the country’s leading modern universities offering a broad subject range.

“As well as hosting modern facilities, Oxford Brookes is well-staffed – its 13:1 student-to-staff ratio is outdone by only ten other universities.”

The guide also highlights strong employment opportunities for graduates. It says: “Known for its focus on preparing students for the workplace, Oxford Brookes helps students to secure placements, internship and employment opportunities – all of which pay off for graduates, and their keeping up in the top half of our league table.”

Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University, said: “We continue to focus on delivering high-quality teaching and an excellent student experience. I’m really delighted to see recognition of this in the Good University Guide.”

Oxford Brookes University is ranked as number nine in the South East of England region, and 61st overall.
