On Friday, 4 April 2025, the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics Network (AIDAN) at Oxford Brookes University hosted the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) – Athon at Headington Hill Campus.

Held over a networking lunch in the Green Room, the event created a dynamic space for collaboration between businesses, researchers, and innovation specialists.

The KTP-Athon was designed to introduce and explore the opportunities offered by the UK’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme — a government-funded initiative that connects businesses with academic expertise to accelerate innovation, enhance competitiveness, and deliver sustainable growth.

Exploring the Power of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, supported by Innovate UK, enable organisations to embed academic expertise directly into their operations. By partnering with universities such as Oxford Brookes University, businesses can leverage cutting-edge research to address strategic challenges, develop new products or services, and strengthen their innovation capacity.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to:

  • Present short pitches or posters outlining their organisation’s AI and data analytics challenges
  • Discuss potential KTP project ideas with Oxford Brookes’ KTP Manager
  • Engage directly with a Knowledge Transfer Advisor from Innovate UK
  • Network with researchers and industry professionals across disciplines
