CDPRP contributes to ‘Equity in the STEM workforce’ report

The Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice’s EPSRC research project, 'Women and Spinouts: A Case for Action' has contributed to the ‘Equity in the STEM workforce’ report.

This was published by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Diversity and Inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

The report makes key recommendations to the UK Government and STEM organisations, highlighting the importance of ‘STEM Diversity Decade of Action’, in order to combat the historic and systemic underrepresentation of certain groups.

According to the evidence that Professor Simonetta Manfredi and her team has submitted to support the ‘Equity in the STEM workforce’ report :

“If the UK is to achieve its ambition of becoming a ‘science super power’ it needs to tackle inequalities in the STEM community and develop an inclusive innovation ecosystem that captures the benefits of diversity.”

Professor Simonetta Manfredi’s research project entitled ‘Women and Spinouts: A Case for Action’ highlights the importance of UK’s ability to attract, retain and develop researchers from a diverse background.
