Remembering Andrew

Andrew Halford

Andrew Halford joined Oxford Brookes Business School in May 2015 as its Associate Dean Strategy & Development and was until December 2022 a member of OBBS’ executive team.

Playing a key role in forming OBBS’ accreditations and international and UK partnerships strategies, Andrew built personal and professional connections and friendships globally.

Andrew was passionate about staff and student wellbeing within the University, and initiated a number of projects to improve communications and wellbeing within the School. He was a calm presence, but always went straight to the crux of any issue. Although outwardly a serious, determined, and analytical character, for those of us who worked closely with him, Andrew showed himself to be hugely compassionate and with a tremendous sense of humour.

Sadly, Andrew passed away on Tuesday 4 January after a 12 month period of medical leave.  In his final days, Andrew was in hospice care surrounded by his family and friends. He will be missed by his friends and colleagues and will be remembered for his thoughtful and considered approach, as well as his contribution to Oxford Brookes Business School.
