Careers

  • Oxford Brookes Business School graduates have a reputation for being extremely employable. Our courses focus on employability skills and experiences, giving you the best chance to secure positions in national and international organisations.

    How do we maximise your employability?

    • Our courses prioritise work-based skills. The theoretical and practical approach to teaching helps you develop the transferable skills that employers look for, such as self-management, communication, and problem solving.
    • We organise guest speakers and company visits that allow you to learn from industry experts and gain an insight into organisations such as BMW, IBM Global Business Solutions, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
    • Our dedicated Careers Centre supports you by providing coaching sessions, assisting with developing your CV and improving your presentation skills.

    And on some of our courses you have the opportunity to undertake:

    • a six to eight-month work placement (marketing and events management courses);
    • client and consultancy projects, which involve creating a workable solution for an identified issue within an organisation; and
    • visits to international organisations. Previous students have visited companies in Budapest and Boston such as Coca-Cola, Audi and Unilever.
  • "The lectures are designed around industry and developing the skills you need for an advantage in the job market. In the working environment you can instantly utilise what you have learnt in lectures.The theories and processes I learnt at Brookes are new and exciting to the industry and are something employers are keen to use!"
