Project title: Registered Nurses’ Experiences and Perceptions of Patient Safety in Critical Care during Covid-19
This project seeks to explore the emergency changes to critical care capacity, delivery and staffing during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is critical that we evaluate the decisions made and strategies employed to learn and evolve our clinical practice.
Through discussions with other professionals and as a member of the national board of the British Association of Critical Care Nurses, the chief investigator’s participation in various professional workstreams has highlighted patient safety as an area of concern for many professionals working in critical care areas. This study thus is a qualitative inquiry of front-line clinical staff capturing the specific experiences of patient safety that perhaps have not been formally documented or reported.
