Gateway stages

The Oxford Brookes project management framework has been designed to incorporate a gateway at each critical stage of the project lifecycle. A gateway is the decision point at which the project must present specified information to gain approval from the appointed governance board to proceed to the next stage.

At each gateway point, the decision will be:

  1. approval with instruction to proceed to next stage,
  2. decision deferred until further specified information is provided, or
  3. the project, at that stage of the project lifecycle, is rejected and closed.

All projects should follow this gateway process.

Use the links on the right for guidance notes explaining what is required at each gateway to ensure that the project follows good practice.
