Festive events at Brookes

We’ve pulled together a round-up of festive events and activities happening on and around campus in the run-up to the winter break.

Oxford Christmas market

• Now until Sunday 5 January 
• Broad Street, Oxford

Enjoy the magic of Oxford at Christmas with a range of festive gifts, seasonal foods, and entertainment in the heart of the city.

Swindon Christmas market

• Now until Saturday 21 December
• The Parade, Swindon

Explore traditional chalet cabins, charming horseboxes and quirky vans displaying artisan gifts and festive street food, as well as a bar serving mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Headington Christmas tree lights switch-on

• Saturday 30 November 
• 4.30pm to 5.30pm
• London Road, Central Headington

Join in local celebrations with music from the City of Oxford Choir, community singing around the tree and festive refreshments. The countdown to the Lord Mayor of Oxford switching on the Christmas tree lights starts at 4.55pm.

Winter market

• Wednesday 4 December
• 10.00am to 4.00pm
• Union Hall and Gallery, Union Square and outside the Gibbs building, Headington Campus

Browse a range of gift stalls and enjoy some festive food and drinks to celebrate the end of the semester. Brookes Union will be giving out free hot chocolates and asking for your opinions at the All I Want for Christmas stand in Union Square.

Carols in the Forum

Put on your favourite festive sweater and join the Multifaith Chaplaincy for a fun sing-along and some refreshments.

University Christmas Celebration

• Thursday 5 December
• 5.30pm
• Union Hall, John Henry Brookes Building, Headington Campus

This annual event is an opportunity to come together on campus to celebrate Christmas with carol singing and music from the University Community Choir and Orchestra.

Jazz winter concert

• Tuesday 10 December
• 7.00pm to 10.00pm
• Union Hall, John Henry Brookes Building, Headington Campus

Enjoy an evening of cosy music with the Oxford Brookes Jazz Society.

Oxford Brookes University and Community Choir and Orchestra (OBUCCO) Winter Concert

• Saturday 14 December
• 7.00pm
• St Andrew’s Church, Old Headington

OBUCCO will be performing festive choral music to raise funds for The Porch Oxford.

Carols at Harcourt Hill

• Tuesday 17 December
