Brookes is introducing a new short-stay offer for students at our halls of residence.

The pilot scheme will provide increased flexibility and options when accessing the University’s campus sites and support students in attending academic, social and other activities in Oxford.

The short-stay offer is available to all Brookes students and may be of particular interest to those who commute to campus.

Bookings can be made online for an en suite room at Clive Booth Student Village and for a non-en suite room at Warneford Hall.

The following set of frequently asked questions have been produced to help answer any immediate questions you might have.

If you have any further questions in relation to the short-stay scheme, don’t hesitate to contact our Accommodation team via accomm@brookes.ac.uk.

Which halls of residence will be available to book a short-stay?

Subject to availability, the University can provide en suite rooms at Clive Booth Student Village’s N to X blocks and non-en suite rooms at Warneford Hall. At this stage, the offer will only be for University-managed accommodation, and will therefore not be available in third-party provided halls such as Parade Green.

How much will a short-stay room cost?

En suite rooms at Clive Booth Student Village’s N to X blocks will cost £40 per night.

The non-en suite rooms at Warneford Hall will cost £35 per night.

Will I need to bring bedding and towels?

Bedding and towels will be provided and are included in the charge.

Will studio, twin and family rooms be available as part of the short-stay offer?

No, these types of rooms are not available as part of the pilot scheme.

Will I have access to kitchen facilities and social spaces with my short-stay room?

Limited access to kitchens will be available. A microwave oven, kettle, fridge and toaster will be available.

Will I be able to book a parking space at the halls of residence for use during my short-stay?

No.

If I book a short-stay room, what do I need to do in advance?

Each booking will require pre-payment and this will include the formal acceptance of the terms and conditions, which include conforming to the conduct expected of students staying at University accommodation. Information will be shared with you on check-in procedures and you will have the appropriate level of door access for your short-stay booking.

Will I be able to choose which room I stay in?

No. Only rooms which are currently not being used will be made available for the short-stay offer. Rooms designated for short-stay use will be clustered together to improve your experience and for fellow residents at the halls of residence.

How many days will I be able to book a room as part of the short-stay offer?

Students can book from one night up to a maximum of seven nights as part of the pilot scheme. Students can make multiple bookings, but there must be a break between each booking.

As someone who has booked a longer-term contract at a University-managed hall of residence, how will this affect me?

The University is carefully planning the short-term offer to help ensure it does not impact on the experience of those who have longer-term contracts at Brookes-managed halls of residence. The short-term offer will make use of rooms that are currently vacant and these rooms will be clustered together to mitigate against any potential disruption. Fellow students who take up the short-term accommodation offer will have to adhere to the same conduct procedures and expected behaviour of all residents at our halls of residence.

Will the short-stay offer be available in the 2026/27 academic year?

The short-stay offer is being introduced in Semester 2 of the 2025/26 academic year as a pilot. After an initial evaluation, we will decide whether to extend the offer into the 2026/27 academic year.
