Join Senior Lecturer in Marketing Dr. Rebecca Beech for an empowering session designed to helpOxford Brookes doctoral students navigate the psychological highs and lows of academia. Drawing
from her published book chapters and her extensive external leadership, co-founding and co-leading
the Early Career Academic Network at the British Academy of Management (UK’s largest business
and management academy). Alongside, co-founding and co-leading the Early Career Scholars at the
Macromarketing Society (international society where scholars examine systems thinking). Dr. Beech
shares practical, research-informed strategies for building academic resilience.
This talk explores how to embrace vulnerability, from navigating paper rejections to cultivating a
growth mindset that reframes ‘failure’, while offering actionable ways to ‘share the load’ through
mentorship and trusted peer support. Attendees will gain tools to maintain momentum, selectively
