Oxford Brookes is committed to building an environment which supports our students, staff and partners to excel. Importantly, our campus spaces need to respond to the evolving needs of the University’s community and the rapidly changing world of education.

We have previously announced our commitment to moving all remaining activity from the Wheatley Campus by the end of October 2024 at the latest. Faculty of Technology, Design & Environment activity currently based at Wheatley will move to two new buildings on the Headington Hill site in the 2024-25 academic year, with further information on this development available on these webpages.

It is our intention to move all teaching from Harcourt Hill to our Headington Campus for the start of the 2025/26 academic year. As with any large estate project timescales can shift, so we will keep people informed of any changes to this plan. We look forward to sharing further information once a detailed piece of work has taken place to look at the sequencing and space requirements required to facilitate the moves. This will also carefully consider future use of services currently provided at Harcourt Hill, such as Brookes Sport and accommodation facilities.

We believe our future Oxford environment will inspire a vibrant, connected and diverse student community to achieve their potential. 

In June 2022, Oxford Brookes received planning permission for two cutting edge, sustainable buildings on the Headington Hill site. The new teaching and workshop buildings will be the new home for the Faculty of Technology, Design & Environment’s activity currently based at Wheatley Campus. Building work for the buildings began in January 2023 and we currently expect both buildings to open their doors in the 2024/25 academic year.
