Nursing Reimagined: a new webinar series

Showcasing doctoral research (DNurs/PhD) that is influencing clinical practice, shaping new ways of thinking, and supporting real-world clinical change.

Research-active organisations deliver better patient outcomes and improved staff retention. Yet, nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) remain underrepresented in formal research roles. The Oxford partnership linking academia and clinical practice is helping to close this gap.

Oxford Brookes University, a leader in applied health research, works directly with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, supported by our multi-disciplinary research institute, OxInAHR. This powerful collaboration has secured £3 Million in joint research funding, developed 70+ healthcare professionals, and delivered 143 service quality improvement projects.

Introducing the 'Nursing Reimagined' Research Webinar Series

To share the impactful research achieved through this powerful local partnership, Oxford Brookes launched the ‘Nursing Reimagined: Shaping the future of nursing through research’ webinar series in January 2026.

The series showcases cutting-edge doctoral research findings from our Professional Doctorate in Nursing (DNurs) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students.

The series also offers a chance to discuss emerging topics in nursing practice with colleagues across various fields of expertise. The DNurs, launched in 2017, is specifically designed for experienced registered nurses who want to remain in clinical practice, education, or management while developing high-level research expertise.

Whether you have no prior research experience or are an experienced researcher, join us to learn how doctoral research projects are influencing clinical practice, shaping new ways of thinking, and leading to real-world clinical change.
