Presentation to European Member of Parliament
Dr Supriya Akerkar, CENDEP Director addressed the European Member of Parliament on ‘Humanitarian Assistance to People with Disabilities’ in Brussels on the 4 March 2024.
She was invited by the Development Committee of the European Parliament who are keen to improve their footprints on making their humanitarian assistance disability inclusive. Dr Akerkar has developed a briefing paper for the European Parliament on this issue. Her recommendations included improving operational and policy environment of humanitarian assistance to make them disability inclusive.
