Introducing three exciting opportunities to showcase your research in 2026. Open to undergraduate or master’s students.

Professor Mary Davis is the new lead for the University’s annual Get Published! event, which provides undergraduate and Master’s students an opportunity to share their research with the rest of Brookes. She shares some of the ways you can get involved this academic year.

Brookes, Glasgow, Houses of Parliament

We’re delighted to offer students three opportunities to present their research in 2026, and we have a limited number of funded places available for the external conferences.

  1. The Get Published! Student Research Conference at Oxford Brookes University, on Wednesday 22 April (week 11 of Semester 2) 10.30am to 3.00pm, at which up to 120 students on undergraduate and postgraduate (Master’s) courses have the opportunity to showcase their research from dissertations, independent studies and other modules, as a poster presentation, a slide presentation, or both.
  2. The Annual British Conference of Undergraduate Research, which will be held in Glasgow on 1 and 2 April 2026. We have some fully funded places for undergraduate students only. Students can choose between giving a poster or paper presentation.
  3. Posters in Parliament, will be held on 25 February 2026. We have two places for Brookes undergraduate students to present their final year research in the Houses of Parliament. Student places must be confirmed by 2 February and registered by 11 February.

Places are limited, so if you would like to present your research, please write a 250-word abstract and submit it via the  Get Published! Project Proposal Google Form. Deadlines to submit are:

  • by 9.00am on Friday 23 January to be considered for all three events, and
  • by Friday 20 February for Get Published only. More details about each event, guidance on writing abstracts, and the judging criteria for submissions are all provided within the google form.

Workshops to support your applications

We will be running two workshops to help you to write your abstract on Wednesday 11 February and Wednesday 18 February, 12noon to 1.00pm in CLC 1.06.

We will also run a workshop to help you with poster design on Wednesday 18 March 12noon to 1.00pm in JHB404.

These events are part of the Launch Pad project, which is all about helping you to publish your research to a wide audience. Visit the Get Published! webpages for more information about how you can publish your research, and why it’s a good thing to do.
