Part-time jobs, temporary contracts and summer work

Whether you’re looking to gain experience, earn extra cash or keep yourself busy, getting a part-time job at university is a great option for many students.

There are lots of part-time jobs at Brookes and summer work opportunities out there - and we’re here to help you find the right role for you. We’ve rounded up some of the vacancies coming up at Brookes, as well as the support available to help you prepare for your job search.

Where should I start?

If you’re looking for a part-time job while you study, or over the summer, there are a range of ways to see what’s out there.

1. Register with JobTeaser (the Careers Jobs and Events Portal) to see the jobs available on the Brookes Jobshop and all the information you need about on and off-campus roles. 

2. Visit the Jobshop stand at Headington Campus to access face-to-face support that includes job-searching advice. You can find the Jobshop stand between 11.00am and 3.00pm on weekdays (open semester time only):
  • Monday - outside Clerici Cafe
  • Tuesday - John Henry Brookes Building (JHBB) reception
  • Wednesday - The Nook (in the Forum), JHBB
  • Thursday - The Nook, JHBB
  • Friday - The Nook, JHBB
3. Contact the Careers Team for a 1-to-1 appointment available on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10.00am and 12 noon by emailing jobshop@brookes.ac.uk.

4. Regularly check the JobTeaser Events tab for careers workshops and professional networking events.

5. Keep an eye out on Student News - we’ll be highlighting upcoming careers events and recruitment fairs.

 

What paid jobs are available at Brookes?


Student Community Warden
Team: Community Engagement Team
Hourly rate: £15.08 per hour
Location: East Oxford and area surrounding Headington Campus
Contract type: Part-time (4 hours a week), casual contract

Role description
Student Community Wardens provide advice and guidance to students living in the private rented sector on how to be good neighbours and have a positive impact in their community. Contracts will start in September 2026.

Enrolment Team Assistant
Team: Student Advice Team
Hourly rate: £15.08
Location: Headington Campus
Contract type: temporary
Full-time: 2 to 18 September 2026 (flexible hours possible)
Flexible hours: 21 September to 9 October 2026 (around studies)

Role description
Enrolment Team Assistants will assist new and continuing students throughout the six-week Autumn Enrolment period, answering students’ queries and escalating any issues as necessary. You will receive full training that enables you to thrive in the role.

International Student Helper
Team: International Student Advice Team (ISAT)
Hourly rate: £15.08
Location: Headington Campus
Contract type: Temporary, with potential opportunities to support the delivery of further ISAT events

Role description
International Student Helpers assist in welcoming new international students to the campus and Oxford during the arrivals period of 12 to 19 September 2026. There may also be opportunities to work to support delivery of ISAT events during the semester and to work with us during the Induction Week in January 2027.

Successful candidates will be required to attend a compulsory in-person paid training session on Thursday 10 September 2026. If you do not attend this training, your application will be withdrawn.
