The Critical Prompt: AI and Higher Education Reading Group (18 March)

AI and Higher Education Reading Group for Staff and Postgraduate research Students

Join Stefani Goga and Martha O'Curry from the Centre for Academic Development for our monthly reading group. In these sessions we will reflect on some of the big and difficult questions relating to the impact of AI on Higher Education and learning. The online meetings are informal, require no expert knowledge, and are open to all staff and postgraduate research students. For our third meeting in March we will be considering the ethical implications of AI in Higher Education and discussing Bradley et al's Denaturalizing Intelligence in Higher Education: AI as a Rupture to Imagining and Manifesting Sustainable and Anti-colonial Literacies (2024) In this paper the authors invite us as readers to consider our role in nurturing intelligences that promote sustainable and anti-colonial futures, to consider how AI unsettles heirarchies of intelligence, and to find a way of harnessing its potential for justice and hope (Bradley et al 2024. p.579).
