Academic Writing Lab: Improving academic style (22 April)
This session examines the qualities of good academic style and the strengths and limitations of Gen-AI as a tool for improving style.
Would you like to make your writing sound more “formal” or “academic”? Effective academic writing follows certain conventions of style and clarity, which help you communicate your ideas in an appropriate and convincing way. This session explores these conventions and also looks at the strengths and limitations of using generative AI as a tool for improving style.
This session is part of the Academic Writing Lab series, which will take you through the processes involved in planning and writing assignments. These are informal sessions suitable for any level of study and may be particularly useful to students studying in a UK university for the first time.
We are now using Zoom scheduler to handle bookings on many Think Space events. When you click on the booking link you will be taken to a booking page. Click on the start time of the event and then fill in your details. Confirmation will then be sent to your google calendar and email and you can add a phone number to get a text message reminder. We will not use your phone details for anything except processing this booking.
